About electric parking brake (EPB)
EPB is the innovation for the premium vehicle segment electronic systems. It is used in passenger cars and replaces the conventional handbrake with a push button on the instrument panel. This, in turn, creates more space between the front seats and dashboard. As EPB replaces the conventional hydraulic parking brake with a compact electronic system, it reduces the gross weight compared to the traditional mechanical parking brake. Thereby, enhancing drivers comfort, safety, and convenience.
In EPB, the electronic system controls the actuators, which are integrated into the wheel brakes. EPB also offers automatic assistance functions to ensure safety of both the passengers and pedestrians.
